Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic surgery is a subspecialty of medicine and surgery that uniquely restricts itself to the improvement of appearance through surgical and/or medical techniques. It is specifically concerned with maintaining 'normal appearance', restoring it, or enhancing it beyond the average level. Cosmetic surgery is a multi-disciplinary and comprehensive approach directed to all areas of the head, neck and body.

Our cosmetic surgeons at the IMC are competent in the anatomy, physiology, pathology and basic sciences.  They offer specialised expertise in patient education and counselling, procedural skills, and the early recognition and treatment of complications.

Breast Enlargement

Is a fairly simple cosmetic procedure that has a positive impact on how feminine a woman feels.  Breast enlargement is far more affordable these days.

Breast Reduction

Sometimes big breasts can be a source of embarassment and discomfort.  A breast reduction can give you a smaller well-defined bust line to enhance your looks, make you more comfortable and increase your self-confidence.

Male Breast Reduction

Enlargement of the male breast tissue (gynaecomastia) is quite common and affects many men to varying extents. It can be due to either one or both of the following reasons: fat can accumulate around the chest and cause feminine-looking breasts, or the glands themselves can also increase in size due to hormonal disturbance. When one or both breasts become too large, many men can feel self-conscious about their appearance and not want to be seen with their shirt off or in tight clothing.

Clear evidence exists that excessive estrogen in males can enlarge the glands.  Being overweight or consuming too much alcohol can also add to the problem.  Different techniques can be used depending on the degree of reduction required. Either liposuction or smart-lipo can be used.  If the problem is only due to fat, or if the gland has increased in size, part of the breast tissue and gland may be removed.

Breast Uplift

A woman's breasts can lose the firmness and shape of youth due to childbirth, weight loss, or simply due to the passage of time. Sagging breasts can be corrected with a breast uplift.  The size of your breasts need not be altered when you have a breast uplift, some people take the opportunity to have a breast enlargement at the same time.

Liposuction

It is a very popular procedure that aims to remove the extra fat deposited in certain areas.  Our experienced cosmetic surgeons are skilled in removing fat from areas such as your abdomen, thighs, buttocks and chin.

Smart Lipo

Is a revolutionary new way to remove those stubborn areas of fat that dieting and exercise just cannot seem to shift.  It is ideal for the areas liken 'love handles', double chin, hips, upper arms, inner thighs, knees and small fatty areas on the tummy.

Laser surgery 

Definition of laser surgery:  Laser surgery uses a laser light source to cauterise, cut, remove and reshape tissues, also to treat bleeding blood vessels.  The laser may be used for cosmetic purposes, including removal of wrinkles, tattoos or birthmarks and for lipolysis and skin resurfacing.

At the Integral Medical Centre we have cosmetic surgeons who are experienced in the use of laser treatment for hair reduction, acne scarring using laser and peels, the treatment of revision scarring, facial and leg vein treatment, artistic botox injections and the latest fillers.  Lasers are also used for the treatment of body sculpting.
