Frequently asked questions
Do I have to consult the doctor first before performing the procedure?
For adults, a free consultation appointment can be done by one of our doctors prior to the operation.
What method do you use for circumcision?
We use the Plastibell, Sleeve resection and Forceps guided methods. Please refer to the procedures page for more information about these methods.
I am a parent. Will you provide me with adequate after-care information?
Yes. You will be given all the information you need while you are here. We also give you a pack containing suitable ointments and an instructions booklet written by us specifically for parents on how to care for your child. We also give you additional after-hours contact details.
Is there a long recovery time?
Plastibell - Depending on the age, boys may need to take time off school. Recovery would take between 5-14 days depending on a few factors.
Surgical options - As a precaution, older males should take around 1 week off work after circumcision.
Can the operation be carried out at the comfort of my own home?
Generally, we can arrange a home visit if you live in London. Contact us for further details.
Is a procedure at home safe?
Circumcision is defined as a minor procedure and we only use equipment that are sealed, sterile and disposal (single-use only).
What is the recommended age for circumcising a child?
We recommend that a child is circumcised between the ages of 1-3 months old. At this age, the infant would feel minimal pain and the healing process will be quicker. An infant will also have little movement at this age.
Can revision operations be carried out to "tidy-up" earlier bad circumcisions?
Yes, but you should consult the doctor beforehand.
